As RASA’s programs and community reach expanded, their existing digital presence no longer supported their goals. The organization needed a website that could educate, engage, and activate different audiences while remaining simple to maintain and scale.

Challenge:

RASA needed to explain a complex environmental mission to a broad, non-technical audience — without relying on long-form content that users wouldn’t read.

Design Decision:

I prioritized progressive disclosure:

  • High-level mission and impact surfaced early

  • Deeper educational content layered for users who want to explore further

Design Decision:

Instead of separate experiences, I structured the IA around user intent (learn, participate, support), allowing different audiences to naturally find their paths without fragmentation.

Design Decision:

I treated calls-to-action as part of the core UX, not marketing add-ons:

  • Clear volunteer and event pathways

  • Social proof to reinforce credibility

  • Action-oriented content placement aligned with user readiness

I anchored design decisions around Maria Gonzalez, an educator and community advocate, because she represents a high-impact user, someone who not only consumes information but also amplifies it within the community.

Information architecture was treated as a strategic foundation, not a documentation step.

A clear IA:

  • Reduced friction for first-time visitors

  • Increased discoverability of programs and actions

  • Created a scalable structure for future content and initiatives

Outcome & Impact

Outcome & Impact

Outcome & Impact

  • Clearer Value Proposition
Post-launch feedback indicated that users could more quickly understand RASA’s mission, relevance, and environmental impact, reducing confusion for first-time visitors.

  • Improved engagement readiness

Early engagement signals and stakeholder observations suggested clearer pathways to key actions (volunteering, events, donations), making participation opportunities easier to discover and act on.

  • Scalable & Measurable Foundation
The website now supports ongoing iteration through analytics-ready structure and modular content, enabling the team to monitor engagement patterns and continuously refine the experience over time.

  • Mission-Driven Design Requires Ruthless Clarity
When everything feels important, hierarchy becomes the most valuable design tool.

  • Good UX Can Multiply Organizational Impact
Small improvements in clarity and flow can significantly lower the barrier to participation.
